Juodaragis – yarrow gruit

While contemplating on Mėnuo Juodaragis Music and Baltic Culture Festival as well as awaiting the Nine-Horned deer (the magic creature from Lithuanian mythology), Dundulis has brewed two beers.

Juodaragis (the Black-Horned deer) is a dark, strong, and fragrant herbal gruit ale reflecting on dreams of XVII Juodaragis Festival. The gruit taste is morphed by yarrow flowers, juniper berries, and the toast of roasted malt.

Devyniaragis (the Nine-Horned) is a light but slightly intoxicating beer with 7.7% ABV, whose wort has been lautered through heather flowers and sweetened with Summer honey. While preserving the aroma of brittle heather and the delicate taste of honey, this beer has been fermented in three stages

The two beers are our little experiments in an attempt to reconstruct the heritage of Lithuanian beer brewing traditions.
